These beautiful porcelain switches are made by hand in the Czech Republic by Katy Paty (the company being named after its founders Katy and Patrick). Kaolin based Bohemian porcelain is poured into moulds, and once dry is milled and finished by hand before being glazed. Not only are the super durable porcelain elements (which carry a 50 year guarantee) made by Katy Paty, but the internal mechanisms too (which carry a 10 year warranty).
We love to use these switches in our projects, as they sit so harmoniously within a period building: either in the brown or white shades as neutrals, or adding a burst of fun colour. Not only do they look the part, they also offer all the mod cons, all being dimmable and compatible with varying light fittings. Beyond the switches and sockets shown here a wider variety of products is available, including TV, AV, USB, CAT 5 etc. Please contact us with your specific requirements. All products in this range carry the CE conformity certificate.
Where switches are to be dimmable, a dimmer module should be used (available here). Please note that these switches require their own circular wall boxes. These are available in varying depths, for either plasterboard or masonry walls. In instances of multiple switches located next to each other, it is recommended that the wall boxes are installed at a minimum distance of 100mm from one another.
Please refer to this explanatory guide when it comes to selecting the correct switch type for your requirements.
