Craftsman and former physicist Marcus Jacka is a friend of the family. We've had the pleasure to have worked with him for the last 17 years since Berdoulat was founded.
He founded Non-Standard to "create innovative contemporary designs that are handcrafted, using traditional methods".
Marcus personally creates each piece in Non-Standard's workshop which is set in an inspiringly beautiful valley on the edge of the North York Moors. Every Non-Standard item is brought to life from individually sourced wood, imbued with the unique characteristics of both wood and craftsman.
There is a purity of geometry and spare lightness to Non-Standard designs, distinguishably balanced, simultaneously contemporary and quietly timeless.
Available in stained black or natural oak, the Geometer stacking chair is a delightful design formed of intersecting curves. We rather like them used as a set that combines the two finishes around a dining table.
