Patrick and Neri have collaborated with Matt Passmore of Willow Pottery - all of eight minutes' drive from the Berdoulat Shop, on several pieces inspired by traditional French pottery and so the Cassaigne range of cookware was born.
Named after the great kitchen at Château de Cassaigne, one of Patrick and Neri's favourite places, the collection includes a variety of practical and decorative pieces, with their design rooted in traditions of historic cookware, brought to life via a range of glazes developed especially for Berdoulat by Matt.
This confit pot is based on an ancient traditional design, and is available in three colourways: Orgeat (a pinky cream colour inspired by an almond flavoured syrup Patrick used to enjoy as a child), Orage (a stormy deep blue) and Plume (a light bluey grey).
We love the crazed surface the glaze gradually develops, and the occasional dribble - a reminder that these are all hand made pieces. As each is hand thrown, dimensions do vary, but approximately they measure:
250mm tall
200mm diameter
