Friends with Shakespeare 5 Week Evening Course - THE MERCHANT OF VENICE

Tuesdays from January 14th to February 11th 2025, 7pm - 9pm.

Show on Saturday 15th February 7:30pm at the THEATRE ROYAL BATH.

Come and make friends with Shakespeare while reading Shakespeare with friends. Over five evenings, fuelled by delicious wine and nibbles, we will read The Merchant of Venice, guided by an experienced actor and Shakespeare specialist, Claire Cartwright. We read the play together, scene by scene, examining the context of the play and unpacking the language and literary references as we go. 

Equipped with a newfound understanding and appreciation of our play, we cap it off with a trip to Theatre Royal Bath to see the smash hit touring RSC production of The Merchant of Venice, starring Tracy-Ann Oberman. We will then go for a post show drink to share our very well informed thoughts on the production. Bliss!
